The Prayer Path

a Christ-centered labyrinth experience

open your eyes...
open your ears...
open your heart...
encounter God.

Come for a unique prayer and devotional experience that will help you draw closer to God.  You will 'journey' through the labyrinth over the span of about an hour, guided by a audio CD that soars with provocative, devotional narration set against a worshipful music backdrop.  The eleven stations on your journey will lead you to "let go" of the busyness, hurts, and distractions that can spoil relationships; "center" your life on God; and reach out to the world with Christ's love.  You may come any time while it’s open.  Allow 1 hour minimum.

History of the Labyrinth

Contemporary labyrinths and this Prayer Path

In recent years, labyrinths have been rediscovered as a Christian spiritual tool. One meditatively walks the labyrinth to reflect on their relationship with God, using it as a time for meditation and prayer without distractions of the outside world. You put the one foot in front of the other, following the path mapped out for you, not worrying about choices of directions, just being able to concentrate on your prayers.

This Prayer Path is a contemporary version of a cathedral labyrinth, which combines ancient Christian tradition with contemporary music, meditations, art, media, and activities at intervals along the path that help you focus on aspects of your spiritual journey with God.

  • The journey to the center is about removing barriers between yourself and God.
  • The Center is a place where you can pray and relax in God’s presence.
  • The journey out is about how your encounter with God affects your relationship with yourself, other people, and the planet.

You walk the labyrinth carrying a CD player & listening on headphones and can also read along in a Participants guide.

The prayers, meditations, background music, and instructions are on the CD. Each track on the CD relates to one part of the labyrinth, or station, which are clearly marked on the floor.
